Health and Safety Officer

Job Description

Our client, a local authority based in Newry, Mourne and Down are looking for a Health and Safety Officer to join their team. This is on an ongoing contract basis.

The main purpose of the role is to provide a comprehensive Health and Safety service to the Council.

To support the coordination and implementation of the Council's Emergency Planning strategy, and disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Day to day management of the Councils portfolio of Insurance and associated risk management processes.

To fulfil the role of 'competent person' as outlined in the Management of Health and Safety at Work (NI) Regulations 2000.

To deputise as required for the Safety, Health and Emergency Planning Manager

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies/attributes;

Relevant professional qualification.

Candidates will have previous experience of providing H&S advice and implementing H&S procedures.
