Service Care Solutions is seeking a dedicated and experienced Highway Inspector on behalf of our client in Rutland.

The successful candidate will play a key role in carrying out regular inspections of the highway network to ensure it meets statutory requirements and supports our Section 58 defense under the Highways Act 1980.

Responsibilities:

• Perform systematic inspections of the highway network in accordance with the prescribed schedule and the standards set by statutory regulations.
• Identify and record any defects, hazards, or areas of non-compliance that may compromise road safety or infrastructure integrity.
• Prioritize inspections based on risk assessments and ensure high-risk areas are inspected more frequently.
• Ensure that all inspections comply with statutory obligations under the Highways Act 1980 and other relevant legislation.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Ability to work flexibly
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
