We are seeking a skilled and efficient professional with experience in Housing Enforcement to join a team based in Bournemouth, as a Private Sector Housing Enforcement Officer. The postholder will be part of a team undertaking HHSRS inspections in the private rented sector. This a full time temporary position with an initial contract of 3 months, and the role offers Hybrid working - with 3 days a week needed in office/on site. Please note a full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in housing, licensing, or enforcement-related roles
- Knowledge of housing legislation, licensing regulations, and enforcement procedures
- Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) qualified and have recent experience of inspecting properties and carrying out HHSRS assessments
- Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive and adaptable attitude
- Full UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle required. Must be able to attend property visits in the BCP area
Role Expectations
- Facilitate and coordinate the implementation of licensing and housing enforcement programmes, ensuring they align with relevant regulations, policies, and objectives
- Undertake HHSRS inspections for single dwelling complaints in private rented sector
- Visit single dwelling disrepair complaints in the private rented sector to check compliance with schedule of works
- Gather evidence for breaches of Housing Act 2004 for potential Civil Penalties and prosecutions
- Enforcement Support: Support the enforcement process by collecting and organizing evidence, assisting in preparing legal documentation, and coordinating with legal and enforcement teams
