We’re working on behalf of a valued client to recruit a Housing Options Officer to join a brand-new team that’s focused on delivering high-quality housing advice and preventing homelessness.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact from day one – helping residents find safe, sustainable housing solutions and supporting the council’s commitment to early intervention and prevention.
🔑Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored, person-centred housing advice to those at risk of homelessness
- Carry out housing needs assessments and make decisions under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996
- Develop personalised housing plans in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act
- Build strong working relationships with landlords, support providers, and external partners
- Maintain accurate casework records and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements
- Previous experience in housing options, homelessness prevention, or similar
- Solid understanding of relevant housing and homelessness legislation
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Able to work under pressure with a solutions-focused attitude
- Salary of £36,000
