Role summary -In this role, you will be responsible for managing a local housing patch, providing advice and support to tenants to sustain their tenancies, and taking enforcement action when necessary. You'll also ensure that the estates under your care are maintained to a high standard, working closely with residents and stakeholders to resolve any issues that arise. It's an independent and fulfilling role where you'll manage your own priorities and make a meaningful contribution to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality housing and estate management services to tenants and leaseholders in line with statutory requirements and best practices.
  • Support vulnerable tenants or those with specific needs, helping to sustain their tenancies and making referrals to specialist agencies where appropriate.
  • Investigate complaints and incidents related to anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse, hate crimes, and criminal activity, offering a victim-centred approach with swift enforcement.
  • Develop and implement Patch Action Plans aligned with Five Star Estate Quality Standards.
  • Conduct home visits, respond to urgent requests, and perform assessments related to fire safety, health, and safety.
  • Collaborate with partners, elected members, and stakeholders to improve the community and support residents.
  • Provide housing advice and guidance on tenancy successions and alterations, ensuring empathy and diplomacy in sensitive situations.
  • Act as a visible presence on estates, addressing unreported issues and providing reassurance to residents.
  • Monitor service levels for Public Realm and Garden Assistance Schemes, escalating any non-conformance.
  • Attend court as a witness or instructing officer when necessary.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and provide support and training to team members.
  • Encourage tenant involvement and support local community groups to enhance community cohesion.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in housing management, including tenancy sustainment and dealing with anti-social behaviour.
  • Knowledge of housing policies, tenancy successions, and statutory regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with residents, stakeholders, and local agencies.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
  • Proficiency in conducting safety assessments and home visits.
  • A commitment to promoting community cohesion and tenant empowerment.
