Role: Housing Solicitor
Location: Central London
Salary: £57,781 – £60,822 (depending on experience)
Work Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days in the office
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a high-volume litigation caseload including:
- Possession claims arising from rent arrears, anti-social behaviour, and other breaches
- Defence of disrepair claims
- Leasehold disputes including service charge matters
- Draft court claim forms, statements of case, defences, applications, and supporting evidence
- Conduct advocacy in County Court, Magistrates' Court, and Residential Property Tribunals on routine matters
- Instruct external counsel and experts on complex or high-value cases
- Negotiate settlements, quantify damages and compensation, and agree costs
- Admitted as a Solicitor in England & Wales or a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives (FILEX)
- Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in housing law
- Solid experience acting on behalf of social landlords or tenants within private practice, local government, or in-house legal teams
- Thorough knowledge of housing and leasehold legislation, litigation procedure, and relevant case law
- Proven ability to manage a large and complex caseload independently, including anti-social behaviour cases, disrepair claims, and breach of tenancy proceedings
