Job Title: Housing Support Worker
Location: Richmond, London
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Contract Duration: 6-Month Temporary Contract
DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS is essential

About Us:
We are currently looking for a Housing Support Worker to join our team in Richmond, London. Our mission is to work with young people, offering creative and innovative supported opportunities for them to improve their quality of life, develop their skills, and make decisions about their future. As a Housing Support Worker, you will maintain records of interventions with young people, facilitate consultation and action, assist in arranging appointments with relevant professionals, provide guidance on personal budgeting and welfare benefits, and ensure that housing and property management tasks are effectively undertaken.

Key Responsibilities:
Support for Young People: Offer creative and innovative supported opportunities to young people to improve their quality of life and skills.
Record Keeping: Maintain appropriate records of interventions with young people, ensuring all relevant issues are communicated to other staff.
Resettlement Support: Facilitate regular consultation and action to enable young people to make decisions concerning their resettlement options and progress toward independent living.
Professional Appointments: Assist in arranging appointments with relevant professionals involved in the young people's support.
Budgeting and Welfare Benefits: Provide advice and assistance to young people on personal budgeting and claims for welfare benefits with guidance from the Senior Support Worker and/or Team Manager.
Housing and Property Management: Ensure that housing and property management tasks are effectively undertaken in line with procedures and targets.
Property Standards: Ensure that properties comply with Nacro's property standards and are well maintained and equipped.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Compassion and empathy for young people facing housing and support challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of personal budgeting, welfare benefits, and housing and property management.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance is essential.
