Job Title: Housing Support Worker

Location: Portsmouth and Southampton
DBS Level: Enhanced Adult
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Car Driver Needed: Yes

Main Duties:
As a Community Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing person-centred support to vulnerable adults who are dealing with homelessness. This position offers flexible working in the community, with the opportunity to work from home in between property visits.

Key responsibilities include:
Co-develop and deliver person-centred support and safety plans for clients, complementing plans from other involved agencies.
Capture and evidence service user progress, maintaining detailed case files.
Undertake safeguarding activities, including monitoring and reporting concerns, and collaborating with external agencies.
Develop and update professional risk management plans, ensuring proactive agency involvement and information sharing with stakeholders.
Maximize rent collection through successful housing and welfare benefit claims, proactive arrears management, and adherence to policies.
Report routine property maintenance and damages promptly to maintenance staff.
Minimize void time by proactively ensuring prompt property re-letting in line with targets.

Role Requirements:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload of 10-12 residents across 3 properties.
Proven experience in delivering person-centred support and safety plans.
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and ability to work in collaboration with external agencies.
Strong organizational skills, including effective case file management.
Familiarity with risk management and proactive agency involvement.
Understanding of housing and welfare benefit claims, rent arrears management, and property maintenance.
Willingness to travel for training, team meetings, and property visits.

Reporting To:
Service Lead

Working Environment:
Lone working is a regular component of the role.
Flexible working arrangements allow for working from home between property visits and office visits.

Property Management:
Responsible for a caseload of 10-12 residents across 3 properties.
