Insurance Manager

Job Description

Service Care Solutions are working alongside Coventry City Council who are looking for a technically minded Insurance Manager to join their team on a temporary contract. Please find a description of the role below.

Role: Insurance Manager
Location: Coventry
Rate: £400-£450 per day (umbrella/ltd)
Contract: 6 months on going
Working: Hybrid, Full-time (minimum 1-2 days)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the Council’s insurance portfolio, ensuring appropriate cover is in place
  • Provide expert insurance advice across departments, including Legal and Procurement.
  • Lead the Council’s response to insurance claims and manage a small claims team.
  • Ensure accurate financial provisions and reserves for claims.
  • Lead the review and reporting of the Corporate Risk Register to senior leadership.
  • Support service areas with risk management guidance and register reviews.
  • Chartered Insurance Institute qualified or relevant experience 
  • Experience in or with local authorities.
  • Skilled at building relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Confident in providing strategic and operational advice on insurance and risk.
  • A strong leader with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
