We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Leasehold Officer to join a team based in Camden on a fill time, temporary basis, with an initial contract period of 6 months. The Leasehold Officer will be the first point of contact for leaseholders inquiries, and will work to maximise income through effective management of 1000 leasehold service charge accounts. There is a need to attend office an average of twice a month however this role is mainly work from home.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role within Housing/ Leasehold Service Charge
- Ability to understand and interpret financial data
- Strong attention to detail and have a keen analytical approach to your workload
- Knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures surrounding Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and accessible manner
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines
Role Expectations
- Be the first point of contact for leaseholders and to investigate and respond to complex queries regarding annual service charges and major works
- Maximise income through effective monitoring and management of approximately 1000 leasehold service charge accounts
- Investigate and respond to leaseholders' queries regarding service charges and their service charge accounts
- Calculate and process service charge reductions in accordance with legislation, policy and decisions of the Courts and First Tier Tribunal
- Manage approximately 1,000 service charge accounts from the point of issue through to collection including setting up and monitoring payment arrangements; arrears escalation; dispute resolution and County Court action
- Maintain Records: Accurately record all interactions, assessments, and decisions in line with relevant policies and procedures, ensuring confidentiality and data protection guidelines are strictly followed
- Prepare statements for Court and attend Court where necessary
- Develop working relationships with colleagues, as well as key partners
- Liaise with external partners, including local authorities and support agencies, and ensure effective service is delivered
