Licensing Officer – Walsall Council
Contract Length: 3 months (with potential for extension)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Interview Format: Face-to-Face or MS Teams
Job Category: Lot 1 – Admin & Clerical

Walsall Council is currently seeking a Licensing Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a local authority setting and support the effective operation of licensing functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with licensing legislation and local policies.

  • Process applications for various licences, permits, and registrations.

  • Conduct inspections, investigations, and liaise with stakeholders including members of the public, businesses, and other agencies.

  • Maintain accurate records and provide high-quality administrative support.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar licensing or regulatory environment.

  • Excellent administrative, organisational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation and guidance.

  • IT literate and confident in using databases and MS Office.
