M&E Engineer

3 months on-going contract, Inside IR35

Surrey

The role would be required to contract manage and monitor service providers delivering the M&E repairs, maintenance, and servicing contracts in Electrics and ensure SHP is statutory compliant in all aspects,

Audit contractor performance and ensure certification and test reporting is accurate and correctly recorded in databases and registers.

Undertake pre and post inspections of works and servicing to monitor quality and ensure the service provider is meeting the contract specification or brief

About the role

  • Uphold SHPs Values, Behaviours & Leadership expectations at all times (see overleaf)
  • Responsible for the operational management and delivery of M&E works programmes and projects.
  • Contract manage and monitor service providers delivering the M&E repairs, maintenance, and servicing contracts and ensure SHP is statutory compliant in all aspects.
  • Audit contractor performance and ensure certification and test reporting is accurate and correctly recorded in databases and registers.
  • Undertake pre and post inspections of works and servicing to monitor quality and ensure the service provider is meeting the contract specification or brief.
  • Design and prepare specifications, tender documents and procure contracts with the support of the Client Manager and Quantity Surveyor.
  • Commission and manage consultants to deliver projects as instructed by the Engineering and Compliance Manager.
  • Forecast annual budgets and manage monthly cash flow and expenditure to meet approved sums.

Experience

  • Experience of managing M&E contracts from inception to final account
  • Experience of conducting technical inspections
  • Working knowledge of building services and building construction, best practice and Regulations
  • Working knowledge of current forms of building services contract and implementation
  • Experience of managing and monitoring budgets, implementing action plans to address adverse variances

Qualifications

  • CIBSE, Degree or HNC or relevant qualification and/or management experience or equivalent in building services
  • Desirable: NEBOSH, Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent qualification
