Job Title: Junior Mechanical Engineer

Job Description:

• As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting and performing engineering activities throughout the lifecycle of various projects contributing to Nuclear New Build initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting the design of systems and components to meet customer requirements.
• Formulating effective solutions to emerging problems.
• Evaluating the overall performance, reliability, and safety of final products.
• Modifying designs to meet customer specifications.
• Collaborating with Senior Mechanical Engineers to estimate project budget and scope.
• Identifying risks and opportunities within projects.
• Preparing product reports and documentation.
• Engaging in continuous learning and development of new theories or methods.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Experience in a similar role and a BEng or similar professional qualification in a related engineering field.
• Understanding of safety legislation and safety culture.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to act with integrity.
• Capacity to work independently with initiative and self-motivation.

Desirable:

• Understanding of materials.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to a range of stakeholders.
