A client within the Public Sector based in the East Midlands is currently recruiting for a Legionella Supervisor to join their Compliance Team within Property, Design and Maintenance as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a mechanical building services engineering environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to manage the Council’s building and maintenance projects with a focus on mechanical building services, ensuring statutory compliance, quality standards, and health and safety—particularly in areas such as water hygiene and lift safety.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Provide specialist advice in mechanical engineering services, overseeing heating, water, air conditioning, and commercial kitchens
• Lead on project supervision, performance specifications, and quality control across maintenance and construction schemes
• Manage compliance with statutory obligations, including lift safety, CDM regulations, and water hygiene legislation
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• Extensive experience in mechanical building services engineering and project management
• Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation, especially in water hygiene and lift compliance
• Proven ability to manage budgets, technical specifications, and site inspections
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Experience acting as Principal Designer under CDM regulations
• Ability to check commissioning/test certificates and British Standard compliance
• Proficiency in asset data capture and use of asset management systems
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £28 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £21 - £22 per hour PAYE).
