Mental Healthcare Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Care Assistant to work within a mental health hospital in Carlisle, Cumbria. The hospital provides a range of clinical services which include, adult long stay rehabilitation, psychiatric intensive care, mental health crisis services and community mental health services for people with a learning disability or autism

This role is fully flexible allowing you to work around any commitments, promoting a healthy work life balance.

ROLE: Band 3 Mental Healthcare Assistant

SHIFT PATTERNS: Long Days 0700-2100 Earlies, 07.00-15.30 Nights 2030-0730

The Role:

  • Providing one-on-one support to individuals with a range of mental health conditions, including Schizophrenia, Personality Disorders, and other Severe Mental Illnesses
  • Assisting individuals in their daily activities, promoting independence.
  • Making patients feel comfortable and calm.

The Person

  • 12 months minimum experience working as a Mental Healthcare Assistant in a residential or inpatient setting.
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Experience in Control and Restraint or PMVA training is beneficial but not essential.
  • International applicants are unfortunately unable to be considered.
