Relational Mentor – Advocacy Support

Location: Flexible (Home-based with travel across Cumbria and Preston Lancashire)
Salary: £25,664 per annum + excellent benefits
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (flexible working available)
Contract: Fixed Term until 28 February 2027

You’ll provide consistent, person-centred support focused on breaking down barriers around finance, benefits, and debt, empowering individuals to take control of their futures.
What You’ll Do:
  • Build trusting, supportive relationships to encourage lasting rehabilitation
  • Help individuals address the root causes of offending
  • Provide practical guidance on life skills, services, and community reintegration
  • Work closely with probation services, prisons, courts, police, social services, and third-sector organisations
  • Champion change, personal growth, and social inclusion
What We’re Looking For:

You don’t need a degree or previous experience in criminal justice—we’ll provide full training. We’re looking for someone who is:
  • Empathetic and non-judgmental, with a genuine interest in people’s stories
  • Organised and adaptable, capable of managing a diverse caseload
  • A strong communicator, confident in complex, multi-agency environments
  • Motivated by positive change, with a values-driven approach
Essential requirements:
  • A full UK driving licence and daily access to a vehicle
  • Home broadband connection for hybrid working
  • Experience in mentoring or the justice system is welcome but not essential
