Job Title: Neighbourhood Housing Officer
Location: Slough
Employment Type: Temporary Ongoing Contract, Full-time (37 hours per week)
Purpose of the Role:
I am recruiting for a client based in Slough, who are looking for an experienced Neighbourhood Housing Officer to join the team and provide a holistic tenancy management service for the council's residents.
Responsibilities:
- Tenancy Management: Oversee a portfolio of properties, ensuring compliance with tenancy agreements, conducting regular property inspections, and addressing tenancy-related queries.
- Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB): Proactively manage and resolve incidents of anti-social behaviour, working closely with residents, local authorities, and law enforcement as necessary.
- Mediation: Act as a mediator in disputes between tenants, facilitating effective communication and resolution.
- Enforcement: Implement appropriate enforcement actions in response to tenancy breaches, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legal requirements.
- Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships within the community, organizing and participating in community events to enhance the quality of life for residents.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies, and stakeholders to address housing-related issues and improve overall neighbourhood well-being.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of tenancy and ASB-related activities, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
- Advisory Role: Provide guidance to tenants on a range of housing-related matters, including welfare benefits, housing applications, and community resources.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Housing Officer role, preferably in a social housing setting.
- Demonstrated experience in tenancy management and dealing with anti-social behaviour issues.
- Strong knowledge of relevant housing legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex and sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- IT proficiency, including experience with housing management systems.
