Job Title: Child-Centered Occupational Therapist
Location: Derbyshire
Rate: 24 per hour
Duration:ASAP to August 2024

Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to join our county-wide team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in our mission to develop a preventative and proactive approach to disabled facilities, equipment, and adaptations provision for children. Your responsibilities will include:

- Conducting thorough assessments of disabled children's needs in their home environments.
- Identifying potential requirements for major and minor adaptations, specialist equipment, and moving and handling solutions.
- Collaborating with district and borough councils to secure funding through Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG).
- Working closely with specialist equipment providers to ensure timely and appropriate provision.
- Providing support to the disability fostering service, emphasizing a child-centered approach to care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Working with a diverse range of client groups and specialisms, including children with physical disabilities, complex health needs, learning disabilities, and behaviors that challenge.
- Participating in child safeguarding initiatives and promoting the well-being of children.
- Engaging in duty team activities, hospital liaison, housing assessments, and major adaptations projects.
- Embracing assistive technology solutions to enhance children's independence and quality of life.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Registered with the relevant professional body.
- Experience working with children in a community or social care setting, preferably with a focus on disability services.
- Strong child-centered approach and commitment to promoting the well-being of children.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
