Placement Officer

Duration: Initially 4 months
Hours: 22 hours per week
Rate: £24 umbrella an hour (£19 PAYE an hour)

Bromley Council are looking for a Part Time Placement Officer to join their Adult’s Service

The role is based in co-located offices in Orpington. This role will involve weekend working and as an example you will cover: Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Responsibilities:
  • This role involves sourcing domcare support packages to enable people to go home from hospital where they have health and social are needs
  • You will work closely with colleagues from the PRUH and SPA to enable discharges
  • Receive referrals and assessments from Social Care for Service Users requiring services in a timely, professional, efficient and positive manner
  • Make recommendations to the Social Worker/referrer on the most appropriate and best value options that will meet the service user’s needs
  • Negotiate the cost of placements and support packages to ensure that the Authority receives the best value service and the most appropriate care and support for Service Users
 
Requirements:
  • High level of computer and IT skills and experience, record keeping and telephone communications
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality
  • Sound understanding of the Care Standards and relevant legislation
  • Knowledge of local services and community resources
  • Experience of negotiating agreements or contracts
  • Educated to a high level A levels
