Planning Solicitor

Job Description

Service Care Solutions is working alongside a bustling local authority, based in the West Midlands, which is seeking an experienced Planning Solicitor to join their team on a part time basis. This role offers a unique opportunity to work remotely bar the need to attend committee meetings once per month. The ideal candidate will have expertise in planning law, experience with planning committees, drafting agreements, and providing advice on planning regulations.
 
Role: Planning Solicitor
Location: West Midlands – remote working bar committee meetings once per month
Umbrella Rate: £45 - £50ph
PAYE Inc. Rate: £39.72 - £44.06ph
Contract Length: 3 months ongoing
 
Key responsibilities of the Planning Solicitor role:
  • Handle a mixed planning law caseload from start to completion.
  • Attend committee meetings once per month (usually the 2nd or 3rd Wednesday).
  • Be able to draft agreements and provide advice on planning regulations.
Required Skills:
  • Be a qualified solicitor or legal executive (with a current practicing certificate) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in planning law
  • Experience with planning committees.
  • Ability to draft 106 and highways agreements.
  • Know how to deal with politicians and have experience of dealing with senior managers.
