Job Description
A Local Authority based in Warwickshire is looking for a temporary Principal Accountant to join their team on an initial 7-month basis. The postholder will play a key role in the overall financial management of the Council in accordance with legislative requirements, Fit for the Future and best practice. Planning, directing and controlling the preparation and monitoring of budgets, Final Accounts, statistics and statutory financial returns, ensuring the financial integrity of the Council's accounts and Financial Management Systems and aiding financial decision making across the Council at all levels

Ideal Candidate
- CCAB qualified or Senior AAT/Part-qualified CCAB with significant experience
- Local Authority/Government finance background essential
- Experience of working under pressure and maintaining high level relationships with senior officers
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of computer based financial management systems and software applications
- Good communication skills and ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
