Principal Lawyer

Service Care Solutions is working alongside a dynamic local authority, based in Devon, which needs a Principal Lawyer to join their Children and Adults Social Care legal team. As a Principal Lawyer, you will play a crucial role in providing expert legal advice and representation related to children and adults in social care settings.
 
Role: Principal Lawyer - Children and Adults Social Care
Location: Remote/hybrid working considered
Umbrella Rate: £70 - £75ph
PAYE Inc. Rate: £61.45 - £65.80ph
Contract Length:  6 months ongoing
 
Key responsibilities of the Principal Lawyer role:
  • Handle a complex caseload of children and adults social care law from start to completion.
  • Report to the Assistant County Solicitor or Deputy County Solicitor and will have Senior Lawyers, Lawyers, Senior Assistant Lawyers, Assistant Lawyers, Senior Legal Assistants and Legal Assistants reporting to you.
  • Take part in the Legal Services’ Out of Hours service to aid the Emergency Duty Team on matters of Childcare and Adult Social Care.
Required Skills:
  • Be a qualified solicitor or legal executive (with a current PC) with substantial experience in social care law.
  • Proven track record of handling a diverse caseload with diligence and attention to detail.
  • Experience in court proceedings and representing clients in legal matters.
  • Supervisory experience within a legal team.
