Job Description

A Local Authority based in Bristol is looking for a temporary Procurement Officer to join the team on an initial 3-month basis to support the Procurement Business Partner to deliver a quality service to the Local Authority. The post holder will manage a portfolio of requirements up to £100K from concept to delivery with internal stakeholders, publish and manage the RFQ Process through our electronic tendering system, maintain the Contract Register and support in development and delivery of Procurement presentations and training to the Local Authority

They will also facilitate compliance with contract standing orders and Procurement best practice aligned to the Public Contracting Regulations, occasionally represent the Local Authority in procurement workshops across the region and work with stakeholders to identify their requirements, timelines, routes to market and evaluation criteria

Ideal Candidate

  • CIPS Qualified desirable or studying towards.
  • Significant experience in procurement officer role preferably in a Local Authority background.
  • Experienced in developing relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate and report to senior officers.
