A local authority based in West London is looking for a Project Manager - Corporate Transformation to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate will have a full relevant Project Management Qualification, extensive experience with Corporate Transformation/Change Projects and ideally experience in a similar local authority position.
The main purpose of the role to provide professional advice, guidance and direct support to enable the successful delivery of key service focused modernisation/improvement projects and programmes. This will include delivery of the Modernisation Programme and other key programmes and projects.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following;
BSc or MSc Project Management
Working in Programme Management Office
Proven experience of project delivery
Experience of working on projects, delivering successfully in terms of quality, timescales and budget.
Creative skills to resolve complex problems with innovative solutions.
Excellent organisational skills demonstrating the ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales.
Evidence of effective presentation, facilitation, communication (oral and written) and consultation skills.
The main responsibilities associated with this role are as follows;
Coordination of complex dependencies across multiple workstreams and services
Providing governance for risks, issues, costs and benefits
Facilitating a move to more agile ways of operating
Supporting the Change Board (Corporate Strategic Board) to take key decisions by identifying decisions required and providing the information required to take those decisions
Managing a complex mix of service, political and public stakeholders
Acting as a centre of excellence for Project and Programme Management for the Council
To critically analyse and balance dimensions of quality, timescales and budget and collaborate creatively with team members, delivery partners and stakeholders to develop solutions that deliver optimal outcomes.
The identification of the tasks, resources, costs, risks, issues and inter-dependencies of these projects, ensuring that they are understood, articulated and managed along with effective management of stakeholders' expectations, needs and concerns to ensure business benefits are realised.
Promotion of the use of effective project and programme management techniques across the council.
The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such is offering an hourly rate of £25 p/hr Umbrella Ltd dependant on experience (Approx. £620 p/week NET after deductions).
