We are seeking a highly responsive and professional Property Negotiator to join a team based in Lewisham. This is a full time, temporary role with an initial contract period of 3 months. The Property Negotiator will be responsible for procuring good quality accommodation across the Temporary Accommodation and Private Rented Sector.
Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Property Negotiator or similar
  • Previous experience of working locally, including with local agencies and landlords
  • Previous experience working with private sector landlords and/or within a homelessness context
  • Knowledge of housing legislation, policies and procedures, including best practice
  • Experience providing excellent customer care
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent administrative abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines
  • Basic DBS Certificate requires


Role Expectations

  • Procure good quality accommodation across the Temporary Accommodation and Private Rented Sector
  • Organise and/or participate in key stakeholder meeting, including landlord exhibitions, and property auctions
  • Provide high quality customer service, ensure all customer enquiries are responded to in a timely manner
  • Contribute to the development of an annual accommodation procurement plan, liaising closely with staff across Housing Services and more
  • Conduct property inspections on potential accommodations, ensuring all are up to good standard and meet health and safety standards
  • Undertake budget monitoring, including initial procurement costs and future budgetary commitments, providing reporting information on a regular basis
  • Work alongside internal and external key partners
  • Maintain Records: Accurately record all interactions, inspections, and maintenance requests in line with relevant policies and procedures, ensuring confidentiality and data protection guidelines are strictly followed
