Repairs Manager

Job Description

A Housing Association based in East London is looking for a Repairs & Asset Manager to join their team. This is a full time, Permanent contract and the successful candidate will hold Full Relevant Surveying/Construction Qualification, ideally be a member of a chartered institute, have extensive experience with Housing repairs and Maintenance, extensive experience with running teams of internal and external contractors and ideally experience within a similar local authority or housing role.


The main purpose of the role is to oversee and be responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of a high quality repairs and maintenance service, including effective contract management across the Associations mixed tenure housing stock.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following competencies;


Degree or other professional qualifications in Building Construction/Surveying/Management or equivalent relevant experience
Full driving licence and use of car with business insurance
Experience of working at management level in asset management with a focus on the repairs and maintenance environment, preferably within the social housing sector
Business acumen with a proven track record of setting budgets and financial monitoring and management of spend
Contracts KPI performance management
Management of the work quality and best value approach in repairs

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows;


Responsible for the operational management of void repairs, ensuring works are carried out in a timely manner to reduce void loss.
To deliver strategically and operationally the management of an effective planned maintenance and cyclical programme ensuring we are investing appropriately in our assets to provide good quality homes.
Delivery of high levels of customer satisfaction through management of a small Customer Service
Team focused on first time resolution across all managed services and tenures, ensuring performance is maximised by developing and implementing effective strategies and monitoring of services and activities.
Accountable for ensuring that all asset and repair policies, processes and working practices are in line with current legislative and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to setting the strategic direction and budget setting of managed services.
To drive and champion continuous improvement across all services managed by putting in place strategies and mechanisms for delivering improvements.
