Repairs Supervisor (PO2) – London based Council
£22 PAYE / £28 Umbrella (Inside IR35)
35 hours per week
3-month contract


We are working with a Local Authority in London who are seeking an experienced Repairs Supervisor to cover a vacant post, overseeing a team of high-performing operatives delivering responsive repairs and void works to council housing stock. This role requires strong leadership, multi-trade technical expertise, and a proven track record in social housing maintenance.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of trade operatives to ensure high-quality repairs and efficient use of materials
  • Undertake complex diagnostics and coordinate multi-trade repair projects (e.g. major leaks affecting multiple properties)
  • Carry out pre- and post-inspections on tenanted properties
  • Manage void works to ensure delivery within agreed timescales
  • Conduct toolbox talks and one-to-one meetings with operatives
  • Attend evening Tenant Association meetings as required
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and building standards
  • Provide excellent customer service, maintaining professional and courteous communication with residents
  • Participate in an on-call rota (24/7 service, 365 days a year)
Requirements:
  • Extensive social housing experience with a trade background (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, decorating, plastering, tiling)
  • Strong understanding of building regulations and compliance
  • Excellent communication and supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of statutory health & safety legislation, including risk assessments and method statements
  • Experience delivering quality control post-inspections
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required
  • Enhanced DBS check
