We are working with a Local Authority in London who are seeking an experienced Repairs Supervisor to cover a vacant post, overseeing a team of high-performing operatives delivering responsive repairs and void works to council housing stock. This role requires strong leadership, multi-trade technical expertise, and a proven track record in social housing maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of trade operatives to ensure high-quality repairs and efficient use of materials
- Undertake complex diagnostics and coordinate multi-trade repair projects (e.g. major leaks affecting multiple properties)
- Carry out pre- and post-inspections on tenanted properties
- Manage void works to ensure delivery within agreed timescales
- Conduct toolbox talks and one-to-one meetings with operatives
- Attend evening Tenant Association meetings as required
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and building standards
- Provide excellent customer service, maintaining professional and courteous communication with residents
- Participate in an on-call rota (24/7 service, 365 days a year)
- Extensive social housing experience with a trade background (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, decorating, plastering, tiling)
- Strong understanding of building regulations and compliance
- Excellent communication and supervisory skills
- Knowledge of statutory health & safety legislation, including risk assessments and method statements
- Experience delivering quality control post-inspections
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required
- Enhanced DBS check
