Service Care Solutuons have an exciting opportunity for a Responsible Individual with Operational Responsibilities to join our client. A Responsible Individual holds a key leadership role, they are responsible for supervising the service management and ensuring the quality of services provided.

Location: West Midlands
Salary: Up to £70,000
Expected hours: 9am to 5pm *May include additional hours as you may be required to support the management team within the children's homes

Duties:

  • Communicate with Ofsted when required and attend feedback sessions after inspections
  • Experience and knowledge of Ofsted experience identifying, assessing, care planning, delivering, monitoring and evaluating outcomes
  • Overseeing the management and delivery of services, ensuring that Hazelmont are meeting regulatory requirements
  • Supervise children's homes individually as well as all the homes overall
  • Attend regular meetings and work effectively with Head of care and director - highlighting any concerns that may be affecting the operational running of the company or affecting a team, staff members, young person's development
  • Work in partnership with the Registered Managers and Deputy Managers in monitoring the development of staff, identifying any training needs
  • Chair management meetings when needed
  • Maintain your own CPD and attend and evaluate the delivery of training to staff for effectiveness
  • Ensure and evidence that all staff are appropriately trained, can evidence the relevant skills and experiences to undertake roles.
  • Develop and establish provision for care, accommodation and support through working with existing partners and building links with other partners and agencies as appropriate
  • Ensure administration is adhered to, including Health & safety checks are undertaken within agreed timescales
  • Experience and knowledge of Ofsted experience identifying, assessing, care planning, delivering, monitoring and evaluating outcomes
  • Ensure each home has a continuous improvement and development plan which is implemented, monitored and evaluated
  • Ensure the home is compliant with all relevant legislation and regulations and remains up to date with any changes
  • Ensure admissions including transitions and discharges are managed efficiently
  • Be a responsible for the overall welfare and development of all children and staff
  • Visit the homes on regular basis to establish a meaningful relationship and extensive knowledge of each child placed, their care plans and EHC plans


Skills and Qualifications
Essential

  • Experience in social care - Registered Ofsted Children's Home is Essential
  • Understand effective practice in responding to the needs of looked after children, Local authority care planning duties.
  • Strong leadership and good communication skills
  • Hold a Level 5 diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (Or equivalent)
  • UK Driving License
  • Understanding of legislation relevant to the profession
  • Confidence when dealing with people


Preferred (But not essential)

  • Minimum of 2 years in roles requiring the supervision and management of staff children's home
