A local authority based in North West London is looking for a Repairs/Maintenance Manager to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate will have a full relevant Trade/Construction qualification, experience in Planned and Responsive repairs projects and ideally experience in a similar local authority or housing role.
The main purpose of the role is to lead the Repairs, Maintenance and Cyclical Services management of the Council's housing stock of 6,000 homes, garages and community centres. This will mean leading on delivering high quality services to time, budget and valued by our residents.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following;
Educated to degree level or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience.
Demonstrable continued learning in all issues relating to health and safety and statutory requirements in the field of repairs and maintenance
Proven track record in a leadership role within a responsive repairs service.
Significant relevant experience of managing repairs and maintenance services at an operational level.
The main responsibilities associated with this role are as follows;
To develop and implement an effective robust repairs and maintenance strategy for the housing stock managed by Harrow in line with the objectives of the Housing Role Profile. This includes working alongside the Head of Asset Management to continuously improve the repairs and maintenance services
To plan and organise the successful delivery of the repairs and maintenance programme, through effective management, ensuring work is completed to approved quality requirements and guidelines.
To oversee and review the management of the in house repairs and maintenance service, to ensure the cost effective delivery of high quality responsive services. This includes managing the operations of the repairs and maintenance contractor and other specialist contractors, and to regularly report any issues to the Head of Asset Management.
To develop and maintain a positive culture within the Housing Asset Management Service in order to deliver improvements to current methods of working including agile working practices and other new initiatives.
To ensure the appropriate use of resources, making decisions daily on expenditure on maintenance work on behalf of the Head of Asset Management.
The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such is offering an hourly rate of £30 p/hr Umbrella Ltd (Approx. £720 p/week NET after deductions).
