Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of children with special needs?

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEND Key Worker to join Staffordshire County Council as a SEND Key Worker.

Location: Biddulph Town Hall, Staffordshire

Pay: £17.94 per hour

Contract: 3 months plus ongoing

About the Role:

In this rewarding role, you'll be a key point of contact for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families. You'll work closely with them to understand their needs and develop a personalized support plan to help them reach their full potential.

What you'll do:

  • Build trusting relationships with children, young people, and their families.
  • Assess individual needs and identify areas where support is needed.
  • Work collaboratively with families, teachers, and other professionals to develop a comprehensive support plan.
  • Connect families with relevant resources and services, such as therapists, benefits, or financial assistance.
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments to the support plan as needed.
  • Ensure the well-being and safety of the children and young people you work with.

Who you are:

  • You have a passion for supporting children with special needs and a desire to make a positive impact on their lives.
  • You have experience working with children and young people in a caring and supportive environment.
  • You're a strong communicator and can build rapport with children, young people, and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • You're a team player who can work effectively with colleagues from different disciplines.
  • You have a good understanding of SEND legislation and safeguarding procedures.
  • You're IT literate and comfortable using technology for record-keeping and communication.
