About the Job

This company is seeking a highly motivated SEND Team Manager to lead, manage and monitor the delivery of locality Childrens Services in a given geographical area. The successful candidate will be accountable for the direction, delivery and performance of the team, including assessment, provision, management of risk and ensuring the delivery of the services statutory responsibilities in compliance with performance indicators and targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and monitor the delivery of locality Childrens Services
  • Take a strategic lead role for Educational Psychology and Sensory Education Support
  • Ensure the provision of assessment, consultancy and advice services to parents/carers and staff working to enhance outcomes for children and young people
  • Take the strategic lead on the commissioning of relevant training and development activities for parents/carers, families, teachers and multi-disciplinary partners
  • Co-ordinate research and evaluation on behalf of Childrens Services, leading to better outcomes for children and young people


  • Experience in leading and managing a team
  • Experience in working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Experience in commissioning training and development activities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies
  • Qualified in relevant field
