Our client, a local authority based in Bedford are looking for a Senior Engineer to join their team. This is on a temporary ongoing contract basis.

The purpose of the role is to:

• Implement the statutory duties and responsibilities of the Borough Council in its role as Highway Authority in the development control process with particular emphasis on the checking, administration and approval of the technical content of Section 278 and Section 38 works for the processing of highway agreements under the Highways and Planning Acts
• Provide a professional Civil Engineering Consultancy service to internal and external clients, by delivering, controlling and directing Civil Engineering projects in a commercial and customer focussed way which achieves programmes, meets performance targets, and generates an income for Engineering Services and meets the Councils Corporate Objectives.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies/attributes;

A degree/HND or equivalent would be ideal but not essential.

Previous experience of Highways engineering, specifically Section 278 and 38 agreements.
