Job Title: Senior Planning Lawyer
Location: South London
CONTRACT: 6 months, 36 hours per week
RATE: £55.00 to £60.00 per hour LTD
Please note that this role would require office attendance 2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of up to 6 directly managed staff, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure their success
- Manage a significant caseload of complex legal work, including planning and highways disputes, appeals, and negotiations
- Provide expert advice to clients on planning and highways law, including policy and regulatory matters
- Develop and implement business strategies to drive growth and improve service delivery
- Manage budgets and resources to ensure efficient use of resources and optimal delivery of services
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a strong background in planning and highways law
- Proven experience of managing a team and leading complex projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound judgments
- Previous work experience within a local authority
