Role: Senior Principle Accountant (Capital & Treasury)
Location: Dudley
Salary: £300+ per day (Umbrella/limited)
Working: Hybrid (3 days from home)
Contract: 12 months on going
Role Overview:
- Monitor the Council’s capital programme in collaboration with service accountants and report to senior management and members.
- Ensure compliance with capital governance and external funding regulations.
- Manage daily and strategic treasury activities, including cash flow, borrowing, and investments, in line with the Treasury Management Strategy.
- Prepare statutory financial documents such as the Capital Strategy, Investment Strategy, and Treasury Management Policy.
- Lead on financial accounting for capital, treasury, and leasing in accordance with accounting standards.
- Provide technical advice to finance colleagues and senior officers across the Council.
- CCAB-qualified accountant (e.g., CIPFA, ACCA, ACA)
- Strong knowledge of public sector capital and treasury finance
- Experience with financial reporting and statutory compliance
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
