Location: Ballymena, Northern Ireland (covering 3 sites in Ballymena and Antrim)
Contract: Initially 3 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £21/hour (umbrella) (£17 PAYE an hour)

🔍 About the Role: Join Action for Children as a Service Coordinator and help transform the lives of children and families across Ballymena and Antrim. Based within the Ballymena & Little Steps Sure Start programme, you will lead a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary team delivering services to children from pre-birth up to four years old, as well as their parents and carers.
This is a vital leadership role where you will coordinate Parenting Support Services, manage one of our key service sites, and ensure high standards in safeguarding, health and safety, and childcare legislation.

🌟 Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, manage, and motivate the Family Support Team to deliver impactful early intervention services
  • Coordinate parenting support programmes across three sites
  • Oversee day-to-day operations at a designated Sure Start site, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and safety regulations
  • Work in partnership with statutory, voluntary, and community organisations to ensure holistic and effective support
  • Provide direct supervision and coaching to team members, ensuring best practice
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and outcomes-focused environment for children and families
  • Drive service quality through casework oversight, audits, and planning
✅ What We're Looking For:
  • Significant experience supporting children, young people, and families (ideally 0–4 years) in a multi-agency setting
  • Strong understanding of childcare legislation and safeguarding policies
  • Proven ability to lead a team, manage caseloads, and delegate work effectively
  • Experience in strategic planning, performance delivery, and stakeholder collaboration
  • Confidence in managing service sites, including health and safety and property oversight
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • A commitment to early years development and family support
