A local authority in West London are recruiting for a Sheltered Housing Service Manager to deliver an improved Sheltered Housing Service, which improves the quality of life of and satisfaction with services for older and vulnerable residents and maximises the opportunity to co-ordinate and work with key partners and stakeholders

The Role
The focus of this Sheltered Housing Service Manager role is to ensure the delivery of an enhanced housing management service which continually improves the quality of life of and satisfaction with services for older and vulnerable residents and maximises the opportunity to co-ordinate and work with key partners and stakeholders.
This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Line management of Specialist Housing Officers
  • Ensure effective day-to-day management for comprehensive housing services, aiding residents in maintaining tenancy and accessing support.
  • Build a cohesive team through leadership, ensuring engagement and excellent service delivery.
  • Systematically monitor and inspect sheltered housing schemes for cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Efficiently manage vacant properties to minimize revenue loss and enhance satisfaction for new tenants.
  • Facilitate social activities, coordinate communal spaces, and promote resident involvement for continuous improvement.


The Candidate
To be considered for this Sheltered Housing Service Manager vacancy, you will require significant experience of managing a team of Specialist Housing Officers, working with vulnerable customers, as well as the following:

  • Experience of working within a performance management framework and reporting on KPIs and outcomes.
  • Track record of success working in a customer facing service and dealing sensitively and effectively with customer issues, specifically with older and vulnerable customers.
  • Experience of dealing with safeguarding issues and managing robust systems to ensure alerts are dealt with efficiently and sensitively
  • An understanding and knowledge of housing and other relevant legislation and regulatory framework within housing.


The Contract
This is a full time Sheltered Housing Service Manager role, working 36 hours per week, 9-5 Monday to Friday, with one day working from home. The contract is for an initial 12 weeks, though this has potential to be extended for made permanent.
