About the Role: We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Senior Social Work Assistant to join our Area Services team. In this role, you’ll support social workers who are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of some of the most vulnerable children and young people in Birmingham.
As a Senior Social Work Assistant, you will:
- Manage your own allocated caseload under the direction of a Team Manager or Social Worker.
- Support the completion of assessments and interventions that meet statutory responsibilities.
- Provide practical, day-to-day support to children and their families.
- Work in partnership with a range of professionals and agencies to ensure joined-up services.
- Accurately record and report on casework in line with policy and legal requirements.
- Experience working with children and/or families in a care setting.
- Knowledge of basic social work practice and relevant legislation.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work as part of a team and with external agencies.
- A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
