Speciality Registrar A&E

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated A&E Specialty Registrar to join our dynamic Emergency Department team on a 3-month fixed-term basis. The successful candidate will provide high-quality emergency care, demonstrating strong clinical judgement, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely and effective medical assessment and treatment for patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
  • Prioritise clinical need and apply sound diagnostic skills and clinical judgement in managing patients.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high standards of emergency care.
  • Participate in departmental audits, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and support to junior colleagues and contribute to teaching activities.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.

Essential Qualifications:
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practise in the UK.
Essential Experience:
  • Previous experience as a Foundation or Trust Grade doctor in Emergency Medicine.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply clinical knowledge and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Evidence of excellent diagnostic skills and clinical judgement.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
  • Sound knowledge of evidence-based medical practice.
  • Proficiency in a broad range of Information Technology systems relevant to clinical care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to provide leadership within a team environment.
  • Strong self-motivation and commitment to continuous professional development.
