The suitable clinician will have:
- Substantial experience supporting UTCs/UCCs/A&Es, specifically within streaming
- Current DBS: Preferably on the Online Update Service
- Valid and Clear NMC Pin
- A positive and can-do attitude

Shifts: 6hr - 12hr | Mostly Night shifts (7pm-7am)

Duties:
- Greet and assess patients as they arrive at the emergency department or urgent care center
- Use clinical judgment to determine whether a patient should be managed by primary care (e.g. a GP) or requires emergency department treatment
- Direct patients to the correct service to support patient flow and reduce pressure on emergency departments
- Take and interpret basic observations when needed (e.g. temperature, pulse, blood pressure, oxygen saturation)
- Identify and escalate any red flags or urgent care needs immediately
- Communicate clearly with GPs, triage nurses, emergency clinicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation of assessments and decisions
- Reassure patients and explain the purpose of the streaming process
- Stay up to date on local pathways, referral criteria, and clinical guidelines
- Support audits and continuous improvement of streaming processes
Essential skills and experience:
- NMC registration as a Registered Nurse
- Clinical experience in urgent care, primary care, or emergency settings
- Strong assessment and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills
