Support Worker
Service care Solution are currently recruiting for a Support Worker in Islington
Daylight is a day service for adults with learning disabilities. The role of the Support Worker involves providing personal care, supporting with eating and drinking, planning activities and supporting people in the day service and out in the community.
Main Responsibilities
As a Support Worker, some of your responsibilities will be:
- Provide support to enable service users with a learning difficulty and additional needs to participate in vocational, recreational, educational and social programmes on and off site, both in a group and on a one to one basis.
- To support people to travel to and from community activities, picking them up from home where necessary and escorting / driving / or using public transport.
- Enable service users to develop skills required for an ordinary life.
- To assess, plan implement evaluates activities undertaken with service users within a person centred planning framework.
- To keep appropriate records according to laid down procedures.
- To support individuals in personal care.
Requirements:
- Clean driving licence and willingness to drive a 17 seater bus
- At least one year experience in health /education/social services or similar setting, working with people with complex needs including implementing activities for individuals and group.
