We’re looking for a proactive and organised Team Assistant to join a busy Purchasing and Materials Team within a well-regarded Housing Association based in Croydon.
THE ROLE
You will play a key role in supporting the efficient ordering and delivery of materials and equipment by liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
- Manage material orders and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain part numbers, pricing, and warranty details
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier records
- Review and follow up on overdue orders and report significant delays
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in orders or deliveries
- Support the wider team with cost-saving initiatives and procurement improvements
- Undertake general administrative duties to support the purchasing function
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a purchasing or procurement environment and be confident working with suppliers and ordering systems.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Comfortable using computerised ordering systems and tracking tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
THE CONTRACT
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- 3-Month Temporary Contract – Potential for Temp to Perm
- The pay for the role is £17.28 per hour LTD company rate.
- The PAYE equivalent is £14.83 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
