Position: ICT Enterprise Architect
Reporting to: ICT Lead Enterprise Architect
Duration: 6 months (extension subject to approval)
Vetting Requirement: DV (Developed Vetting) clearance required
Pay Rate: £700 per day


Scope Summary:
The ICT Pillar & CT Policing is seeking a Technical Architect to work within the Counter Terrorism Operations Centre (CTOC) & Caeruleus Programmes. This role will involve optimising operations, processes, and supporting technology in an integrated environment that aligns with the business strategy and can adapt to change. As an ICT Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for translating business requirements into well-assured solution designs. This position requires a broad architectural background, expertise in various technologies and practices, and excellent stakeholder engagement skills.


Key Tasks:
The ICT Enterprise Architect will be responsible for the following:

  • Taking end-to-end ownership of designing IT solutions and applying the appropriate architectural approach.
  • Designing and documenting Context, Logical, and Physical solution architectures.
  • Preparing High and Low-Level Design documents.
  • Managing the architecture and technical delivery of multiple projects simultaneously throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Investigating specific architectural challenges and proposing solution approaches that deliver incremental value quickly while supporting sustainable development and long-term enterprise strategies.
  • Collaborating closely with engineering teams, providing input on decision-making and ensuring outcomes align with architectural standards.


Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • DV (Developed Vetting) security clearance to operate in the CT Policing environment and with partners.
  • Experience in National/International Network Deployments.
  • Experience in stakeholder interaction and meetings at all levels.
  • Designing and architecting the integration of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software using industry-standard tools and existing enterprise frameworks.
  • Full system engineering lifecycle experience.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of enterprise security and compliance frameworks and user authentication/authorization strategies.


Desirable Experience:
Candidates with the following additional experience will be highly considered:

  • Understanding and knowledge of CT Policing, including MPS, National (UK Force-wide), and international responsibilities; including a clear understanding of CT Policing relationships to Government, security and intelligence agencies, and legislative processes, including their governance arrangements.
  • Experience of working in Central Government.
  • Experience of working in the Policing sector.
  • Experience of working in CT Policing.
  • Experience in stakeholder interaction and meetings at all levels.
  • Experience in third-party management and interaction.
  • Experience of working in a National ICT Support Centre.
  • Understanding of ITIL Framework and Processes.


Preferred Experience:
Candidates with the following preferred experience will be considered favorably:

  • Experience of working in projects for Police Forces.
  • Experience of working with complex technologies in high-security environments.
