Temporary Accommodation Support Officer
Lambeth
Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
3- 6 month contract

Role Purpose:
The Temporary Accommodation Support Officer will provide housing-related support to vulnerable individuals in Lambeth to help them remain in their accommodations and prevent homelessness. This role involves working across various tenures to offer practical assistance and ensure the stability and well-being of clients.

Temporary Accommodation Support Officer Key Responsibilities:

  • Visit and support clients identified by the Housing Options Team as vulnerable and in need of low-level support to sustain their accommodation.
  • Assist clients with the completion of Housing Benefits forms and other necessary documentation to maximize income and ensure accommodation payments are made.
  • Implement robust procedures to identify changes in clients' circumstances to prevent homelessness threats.
  • Identify additional support needs and assist the Housing Options Officer in completing referrals to other internal or external support agencies.
  • Collate accurate statistical information for internal and external Performance Indicators.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients with private landlords, housing officers, and other parties regarding tenancy conditions, rent arrears, and other housing-related matters.
  • Manage a high level of support need cases efficiently, professionally, and confidently.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a housing support role.
  • Valid driver's license, own vehicle, and business insurance.
  • Enhanced DBS certification.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and engage in lone working situations.


The Package
This is a temporary, Temporary Accommodation Support Officer role,35 hours per week for an initial 3 months, covering the recruitment process for a permanent team member, meaning the role could be extended, or become permanent.
