Turnaround Intervention Worker

Location: Hemel Hempstead

Contract: FTC (end of March 2025)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £30,151 with the opportunity to progress to a maximum of £32,909

Purpose of the job:

  • To work with young people and their families who meet the eligibility criteria for the Ministry of Justice funded Turnaround initiative.
  • To work with young people who are at risk of offending or engaging in anti-social behaviour.
  • To deliver support and interventions to young people designed to divert them away from the criminal justice system.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Supervise a case load of young people who meet the eligibility criteria for Turnaround
  • Undertake a whole family assessment of need
  • Deliver support and interventions to young people
  • Take the role of Lead Practitioner
  • Engage with professionals across the service
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive case management information
  • Ensure practice adheres to the Ministry of Justice Turnaround guidance
  • Carry out all relevant statutory regulations, departmental policies and procedures
  • Keep up to date with developments in relevant legislation

Requirements:

  • May be working towards a professional qualification or be of graduate entry level with sound practical experience
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies
  • Experience and knowledge of working with young people
  • Ability to develop robust plans and deliver the intervention
  • Experience of using the team around the family (TAF) approach
  • Knowledge of child development and adolescents
  • Must have full UK driving licence, own transport and relevant business insurance
