A Housing Association in Bethnal Green is seeking a dedicated Night Support Worker to provide high-quality waking-night support to homeless men with substance misuse issues within a psychologically informed environment.

THE ROLE
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping residents stabilise their substance use, develop life skills, and move towards independent living.

  • Work as part of a team to create a safe and supportive environment
  • Carry out risk assessments and develop personalised support plans
  • Deliver high-quality support, including substance misuse interventions
  • Support residents with accessing health services, benefits, and training
  • Facilitate group activities, such as resident meetings and workshops
  • Collaborate with external agencies to ensure integrated support
  • Monitor and respond to safeguarding concerns, incidents, and anti-social behaviour

THE CANDIDATE
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in a similar Housing Support Worker or Substance Misuse Support role.
  • Experience working with homeless individuals or those with substance misuse issues
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessments and support planning
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviour in a professional manner
  • Understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and multi-agency working
  • Strong communication and IT skills for accurate record-keeping

THE CONTRACT
  • 40 Hours per week – 22:00-08:30 currently, soon changing to 20:30-08:30 – this is on a 4-on, 4-off basis.
  • Permanent Contract
  • Pay: £27.352
