Location: Bootle Area 
Contract Type: Full-time, until 13th February 2026 at minimum (Long-term sickness cover
Pay: £20.88 PAYE / £27.35 LTD (Inside IR35 – via PAYE or Umbrella)

About the Role
Service Care Solutions is supporting in the recruitment of an experienced Youth Justice Case Manager for a Youth Justice Service.
This is a full time position, based in Bootle. You must be local to Bootle as no travel or accommodation expenses are offered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with children and young people who are at risk of or involved in offending behaviour.

  • Deliver interventions and support plans that promote desistance, personal development, and positive lifestyle changes.

  • Carry out assessments using approved tools to inform risk management and intervention planning.

  • Develop and maintain strong, respectful relationships with children, their families, and multi-agency partners.

  • Safeguard children by identifying risks and vulnerabilities, and taking appropriate action in line with statutory guidance.

  • Ensure that all work is child-centred and responsive to individual needs, including diversity, disability, and trauma.

  • Manage caseloads in accordance with statutory requirements and national standards.

  • Prepare reports for court and other statutory meetings, presenting clear, balanced information and recommendations.

  • Participate in multi-agency panels and contribute to strategic planning and partnership working.

  • Uphold the values and reputation of Sefton Council and the Youth Justice Service in all areas of practice.

Person Specification Essential Criteria:
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. Youth Work, Social Work, Probation, Criminology, or equivalent experience)

  • Experience of working with children and young people, particularly those at risk of offending or social exclusion

  • Understanding of child development, trauma, safeguarding, and youth offending legislation

  • Ability to assess risk, plan interventions, and manage complex situations with care and professionalism

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong commitment to equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practice

  • Ability to work flexibly across a range of settings, including outreach, schools, courts, and family homes

  • Experience of multi-agency working and partnership collaboration

Desirable Criteria:
  • Knowledge of local services in Bootle or surrounding areas

  • Experience working with restorative justice or trauma-informed approaches

  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle

Additional Information:
  • Enhanced DBS check required

  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required

  • Commitment to ongoing training and development
