Youth Jutice Manager

We are seeking a manager to be employed to manage a team of 5 staff who supervise children who are at the edge of committing crime, and their families.

Location: Southwark

Duration: At least 3 months

Rate: £32.00 per hour ltd (Umbrella rate)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide exemplary leadership, management, and professional guidance to a team of youth justice practitioners, both directly and within their team. To ensure the delivery of a high quality, comprehensive, integrated, systemically-informed youth justice service within Southwark's practice framework which prevents offending and protects the public from the harmful activities of young people who offend. To promote and govern excellent youth justice practice, including assessing need, planning and working purposefully with families, support networks and other professionals to prevent offending, safeguard children and promote positive outcomes. To ensure the delivery of a youth justice service which is both relationship-based and responsive to the needs of children and their families in a timely manner and within statutory guidelines. To promote, lead and manage the development of excellent and confident practitioners.

Knowledge and experience:

  • Must hold a professional qualification in social work, probation or a related profession.
  • Desirable to be SW Engalnd registered.
  • Experience of direct, complex social work with children and their families in a youth justice context.
