Job Title: Adult Mental Health Social Worker
Location: Westmorland
Contract: 3-month contract, ongoing
Pay Rate:

• £36 per hour umbrella
• £31.66 PAYE (inclusive)
• £28.25 PAYE (exclusive)

Job Overview We are currently recruiting an experienced Adult Mental Health Social Worker to join a Local Authority Adult Services team based in Westmorland. This role involves working with adults experiencing mental health needs, ensuring timely interventions, robust assessments, and person-centred support planning in line with statutory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities

• Undertake statutory adult mental health assessments under the Care Act 2014
• Complete Mental Health Act (1983, as amended) work as required
• Manage a caseload of adults with complex mental health needs
• Develop and review care and support plans to promote independence and wellbeing
• Undertake risk assessments and crisis intervention where necessary
• Work collaboratively with health professionals, Community Mental Health Teams, and partner agencies
• Safeguard adults at risk in line with local and national policy
• Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and reviews

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker
• Registered with Social Work England
• Recent experience in Adult Mental Health Social Work within a Local Authority
• Sound working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Health Act
• Strong assessment, risk management, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Enhanced DBS (Update Service desirable)
