Assistant Occupational Therapist – Reablement Team
Our client | Monday to Friday | 9:00am – 5:00pm
£27.71 per hour (Umbrella) / £22.00 per hour (PAYE)
3-Month Ongoing Contract
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an Assistant Occupational Therapist to join a Reablement Team based in Our client on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, helping individuals regain their independence and improve their quality of life following illness, injury, or a change in their circumstances.
About the Role
As an Assistant Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in delivering reablement services within the community. You will support qualified Occupational Therapists and other professionals in assessing service users’ needs and implementing tailored interventions aimed at promoting independence and reducing long-term care requirements.
This role is community-based, requiring travel across the our client area to visit service users in their own homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Occupational Therapists with functional assessments and reablement interventions
- Support the delivery of person-centred reablement plans to enable individuals to regain daily living skills
- Provide guidance on the safe use of equipment, aids, and minor adaptations
- Monitor and record service user progress, reporting any changes or concerns appropriately
- Work closely with service users, families, carers, and healthcare professionals
- Promote independence, dignity, and choice at all times
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety policies and procedures
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working within health, social care, or a rehabilitation setting
- Understanding of occupational therapy principles or reablement services
- Full UK driving licence with access to a car for work purposes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organisational and record-keeping abilities
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in a community-based role
- Knowledge of moving and handling techniques
- Familiarity with local authority or NHS service delivery models
