Contract: 3-month contract, ongoing
Pay Rate:

• £45.46 per hour umbrella
• £39.89 PAYE (inclusive)
• £35.59 PAYE (exclusive)

Job Overview Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting an experienced Child Protection Social Worker to work with a Local Authority Children’s Services team based in Barrow-in-Furness. The role sits within frontline Child Protection services and requires an experienced practitioner who can manage complex safeguarding cases effectively.
Key Responsibilities

• Undertake statutory Child Protection and Child in Need work
• Complete assessments in line with the Children Act 1989 & 2004
• Prepare and present reports for Child Protection Conferences and Court
• Manage a caseload of children and families with complex safeguarding concerns
• Develop, implement, and review care and protection plans
• Undertake risk assessments and respond to safeguarding concerns promptly
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies including Health, Police, Education, and Early Help
• Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, reviews, and supervision

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker
• Registered with Social Work England
• Recent Child Protection experience within a Local Authority
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance
• Experience of court work and care proceedings
• Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced frontline children’s team
• Enhanced DBS (Update Service desirable)
